One of our Music Therapists explains how she adapts her Music Therapy program to the needs of the child: 'During his time receiving music therapy through KidLinks’ music therapy clinic, one of our 4 year-old clients experienced a significantly traumatic event. Through musical involvement in the therapeutic context, the children's abilities are strengthened and transferred to other areas of their lives.
The therapist assesses the strengths and needs of each child and provides an individualized treatment program which uses music to address areas of cognition, physical, communication, social, emotional and behavioral challenges. Our Board-Certified Music Therapists provide direct therapy services to children, serving more than a dozen children per week. KidLinks has a long history of providing Music Therapy for children in need. These goals are addressed by a credentialed professional who has completed an approved music therapy program. Music Therapy (MT) is a client and his/her music therapist using music to accomplish non-musical goals together.
